IP/Network Surveillance

IP Cameras

An Internet protocol camera, or IP camera, is a type of digital video camera commonly employed for surveillance, and which, unlike analogue closed circuit television (CCTV) cameras, can send and receive data via a computer network and the Internet. This type of surveillance consists of IP Cameras (Intelligent), NVR - Network Video Recorder (Highly intelligent), connecting cables and accessories.

Cameras may or may not depend on NVR to carry out their functions depending on type of IP camera used. Cameras can function independently and can back up other network cameras in the event that one fails. Each camera can be independently logged into remotely and can be told to backup its content/record its content to a location outside the facility. Clarity is a function of budget as one can achieve superb clarity, facial recognition and great distances.

They are a little bit expensive but their features justify the value as one camera can do the work of 4 analogue cameras. They can equally be hard wired or wirelessly connected to the network.
