Closed-circuit television (CCTV), also known as video surveillance, is the use of analogue video cameras to transmit a signal to a specific place, on a limited set of monitors. It’s a system that consists of analogue cameras (non intelligent), DVR - Digital Video recorder (less intelligent), connecting cables and accessories.
Cameras are solely dependent on the DVR to carry out their functions. The functionality of cameras are also limited like clarity, trigger function e.g motion sensing, alarm event etc. To remotely login to your facility or home, you go in through the DVR. All recording resides in the DVR. Analogue systems are deployed in scenarios where specific details are not sort after. They are less expensive and have been around for a while.
A good understanding of analogue cameras and a clients need can make them do what is required which is why proper design is key to delivery.
